Dear Mammy and Daddy,

Can't believe while writing this we are going into the final three/four weeks of 2020.

What a year it has been!

Jan 2020 - Explored Japan to see if we wanted to move there.
Feb 2020 - Decided to apply for jobs in Japan.
March 2020 - Got jobs in Japan.
COVID STRUCK
April - July 20204 - In limbo, quit jobs, sold our belongings, Didn't know if we could enter Japan (scary, changing, challenging times).
Aug 2020 - Leaving NZ and Rob behind, moved to Japan, not knowing what the future would bring.
Sept 2020 - Started a new job, in a new country with new cultures, customs and languages.
Oct 2020 - Rob got his visa and came to Japan <3.

Dear Mammy and Daddy,
So another week has gone by. Can't believe we are in the last week of November.

Mammy you had your birthday - Happy Birthday another year younger...

Hope you had a lovely week of celebrating.

Love this photo of us celebrating with Tobacco onions last Christmas - these are one of the long list of foods I miss from home!!

This week was actually one of the better weeks I've had in a while and I think it is because I am starting to see some light in the areas I have been finding tricky.

So let's see what learnings and noticings I have had this week...

This week really has been one of my favourite weeks of reading so far!! I feel like because I am committing to reading a book a week I am starting to make connections in my head and the themes that I mentioned in a previous blog post are really starting to align and become clearer in my head.

I really enjoyed recording this week's session - I will be releasing it on Monday as I only recorded it on Friday so this messed up the releasing schedule a wee bit but it really is worth the wait make sure to check it out on my channel.

Do you ever feel like some weeks just feel better than others? I feel like this week was one of those weeks. I have made lots of new connections in the #edutwitter space and it has been so great to hear how people have been facing their challenges and overcoming them.

That is what this week's book is all about - holding ourselves accountable for the things that happen in our lives.....

This week I was speaking with my Uncle who has been in the education system for many years and it was so good to hear his insights into Empathetic Educators. We spoke about how I am gathering my #toptiptakeaways and he asked if I am making connections between the sessions. And the answer is......I ammm!!

While I have been reading the books for my weekly book review and editing the sessions. I feel there are some recurring themes emerging. And I am really excited to share these with you.

Like I always say, I believe leading with Empathy can be one of our biggest superpowers of the future and as always these are my opinions and connections. So I feel these themes could give an insight into what is needed to empathise with ourselves and empathise with others......
